Live & Learn hosts Empower Hours the last Saturday of every month as an opportunity for women to connect with one another to build a strong internal community and inspire each other.

At the end of January, women in the Live & Learn program joined the monthly Empower Hour to create a vision board for 2022.

Vision boards are designed to visually set goals. Women used recycled materials, pasted on a blank canvas. Typically, these vision boards are displayed somewhere to be reminded of the goals in place for the year.

April, a mom of two, designed her vision board to inspire herself to be the best version of herself. For herself and for her family to continue to move forward in a positive direction in 2022.

“It’s not gonna take someone else for me to be my best person. I have to make myself my best person,” April said.

April’s vision board is filled with visual representation of travel, family, and love. Reminding her of her year’s purpose.

Ingrid, 19, wants to have financial stability, individuality, and physical wellness, and she wants to travel this year.

“I really want to be at a place where I can afford my own home by the time I am 21,” Ingrid said.

While Ingrid is committed to her school work, she wants to grow her relationships and be self-sufficient.

Ingrid was raised within a strict family culture that limited her autonomy and prevented her from building friendships and a social support network.

Ingrid’s board is a goal to look at, to remind her and inspire her to achieve her goals within the next year.

The next Empower Hour will be a celebration for International Women’s Day.
