For her long-term commitment to Live & Learn and in appreciation of her years of service in our community, this award is presented to Meri Friedman.
Ms. Friedman is a retired photographer who has spent her life in service to others. Through her generosity with her time, talents, and resources, Ms. Friedman has made a lasting difference in the lives of countless Arizonans, especially women and mothers. She has volunteered for organizations including Jewish Family Services, Volunteer Aid, and Live & Learn. She has served on the Foster Care Review Board for over a decade. She has mentored foster care children. She has taught photography at group homes. She is involved in efforts to increase voter registration and voter turnout, and she has never been afraid to take political stands on the side of justice, feminism, and human dignity.
Ms. Friedman has volunteered with Live & Learn since its founding in 2012. She has given her time, talents, and resources to help Live & Learn grow into what it is today. Over the past decade, Ms. Friedman has been a mentor, a marketing consultant, a copy editor, a cheerleader and advocate, and a tireless source of encouragement to our staff.
In honor of Meri Friedman, her family has made a donation that will provide two women the life changing opportunity to join Live & Learn’s program.
