Imagine not knowing what you can feed your children for dinner.
Unfortunately, that is the reality many Maricopa County women face every day. At Live & Learn, we help women facing food insecurity find immediate solutions for themselves and their families. Then, we help women pursue education and a career so they can continue to provide for their families themselves.
We are excited to be the recipients of a $55,000 grant from Albertsons and Safeway Foundation Nourishing Neighbors to help women and their children in our community receive the benefits of existing federal meals programs such as SNAP, WIC, P-EBT, and free or reduced school nutrition programs.
This grant will allow us to provide one-on-one benefits enrollment assistance and education on nutrition and financial literacy for 175 female-headed families in poverty in Maricopa County.
