Live and Learn was founded in 2012 as an initiative of the Arizona Foundation for Women, born from the recognition that too many women in the Phoenix-metro area were facing systemic barriers to education, financial independence, and stability. With a mission to break generational cycles of poverty, Live and Learn began as a beacon of support for women who needed more than just hope—they needed a plan, resources, and a path forward.
In 2014, Live and Learn became an independent nonprofit organization, marking a pivotal moment in our journey. What started as a small program rooted in compassion and community has grown into a powerful movement—empowering hundreds of women every year with individualized guidance, career training, and financial education.
As we’ve grown, so has our impact. Each year, we expand to meet the evolving needs of the women we serve. Through our long-term, holistic approach, we walk alongside each participant, helping them overcome obstacles and build sustainable futures—for themselves, their families, and their communities.
