Cathy DeLaRosa is a Live & Learn Alumna, a wife and mother, and a Board Certified Respiratory Therapist. A Phoenix native, Cathy attended Pima Medical Institute after high school to pursue her dream of a career in medicine, a career that would allow her to help others in their moments of greatest need. Cathy excelled academically, but struggled to find full-time employment. For years, the strain of underemployment put overwhelming stress on Cathy and her young family. Finally, she found Live & Learn. “Live & Learn wasn’t just supportive with school and finding a job; they helped with my home life. They listened and understood no matter what was going on.” Thanks to Live & Learn, Cathy now has the job she always dreamed of: she is a Respiratory Therapist at Honorhealth Shea in Phoenix. As part of the Advisory Council for Live & Learn, Cathy provides guidance to other women pursuing medical careers, and she offers invaluable perspective on program design to the Live & Learn Board of Directors and staff.
